The external locks of Compact Plus poles are far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used on many poles. Convenient features all-year round, external locks really show their value in winter. Rather than requiring the dexterity for micro-adjustments of internally-locking poles, Compact PLUS pole can be manipulated without any need to remove gloves, eliminating the risk of exposure to snow, wind and cold.

Contoured EVA foam grips lend Compact PLUS pole an ergonomic, comfortable handhold. Further enhancing winter performance, the extended length of the grips offers glove-friendly, secondary contact points that allow you to adjust where you grasp the poles and eliminate the need to shorten or extend poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Integrated straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.

Though far lighter than steel, the Titanal alloy employed by Compact Plus poles is comparable in strength. In addition, Titanal is highly resistant to abrasion and corrosion. Tungsten/Carbide tips provide traction on unimproved surfaces and protect the shafts of the poles from structural damage by flexing if and when poles get stuck between rocks or in cracks. Both standard and winter baskets are included with each pair of Compact Plus poles, providing versatility for use in varied conditions.
